Bold Strokes

Sometimes wielding the brush with high energy is the only way to come out of a slump. Covering the canvas with a sense of urgency helps me to get past the barrier of inertia after a period of not painting.

Modernity is done with a large brush and knife. The dominant color is black which I don't use a lot but in this case it just seemed right.

Modernity, Acrylic on canvas, 16"x20", $100

  1. I AM COMPLETELY IN LOVE WITH THIS PAINTING.

I've lost the inspiration to paint, i've been staring at a blank canvas with no reactions following through. I think i'll keep staring at this one till i'm inspired.

  2. Wow, what a great painting! I've recently finished my girlfriend's portfolio website-- she does similar art. You can check it out here: http://shiraespo.com/ Thanks, and great work!

  6. your work is very nice. I really enjoy reading your inserts about you thought process or artistic input to your work. To me it seems like you draw inspiration from a lot of artists and I like that your work does not reference just one artist but is a mesh of some and a lot of your own input and creative thought.

  7. I like your post that accompanies this piece. I personally feel extremely uninspired at times, and your example is a perfect way for an artist to move beyond their own "lack of inspiration". Just throwing around some paint, can lead to a beautiful work of art, as show here.
